Horseneck Beach State Reservation

The Horseneck Beach State Reservation, a favorite summer destination, is a home to almost 600 acres and includes 2 miles of beach front. Visitors come from all over to play in the surf and sand every summer, but the reservation offers more! A range of activities from bird and wildlife observation to shell fishing are allowed as well as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing during the winter months. The paved, ADA-accessible 2 mile path brings in visitors as well as some locals. During the summer, park interpreters host free walks and exploration programs during the week for those individuals who are curious in learning more about the reservation’s habitat and wildlife.

Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery

Westport Rivers Vineyard and Winery, nestled in Westport, is the largest vineyard in New England operated by the Russell Family. The Russell’s, founder both Buzzards Bay Brewing and Westport Rivers Winery, have always had a deep consideration for local agriculture and education and currently preserves 400 acres of working farmland and forest. With 25 years of experience, Westport Rivers Winery develops an extraordinary, luscious wine that can be described as crisp, clean, and certainly pleasurable. In addition to a beautiful view, remarkable wine, Westport Rivers Winery also offers a Sunset Music event this summer. Sip on a glass of locally grown wine and enjoy fantastic entertainment as the sun sets Friday evenings. No better way to spend a Friday evening with friends, loved ones, and family!

Osprey Sea Kayak Adventures

Osprey Sea Kayak Adventures, situated in Westport, specializes in kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddle boarding instruction. The staff are all ACA certified or British Canoeing certified coaches that are always learning the most recent up-to-date techniques. In addition to classes, ranging from beginner to advanced, they also offer rentals and a selection of new and used kayaks, canoes, surf skis, SUP’s, and paddling accessories. Once again this summer, they will be hosting “Paddle for Recovery” designed for current or recently treated cancer patients. These free lessons will occur during the months of June and July.
